Lesson from a double amputee record breaker- Brian Reynolds

Strength training for Spartan Race

Brian Reynolds is a world-class para-athlete runner who is pushing past obstacles. He is fresh off a fast know time in the half marathon and is poised for some big races.

As a child, Brian had a compromised immune system, which led to the contraction of a rare form of meningitis. The medication to treat the disease was so intense that it led to the loss of both of his legs about 6 inches below the knee. So since the age of 4 years old, Brain has learned to live and thrive with prosthetic legs.

After living a life where he went out of his way to be inactive, Brian decided it was time to make a change and started to go after. Beginning as a competitive powerlifter to an endurance mountain hiker to now a world-class runner.

In this episode, we talk about

  • How to blaze your own trail and push your absolute limits
  • The challenges of being a para-athlete
  • The best anti-chafe solution
  • The mindset that will help you train and do more.
